Last month in StepAlong we launched some important product updates to the StepAlong Player, that is the interface that end-users follow your StepAlongs in. This month we have been focussed on the StepAlong Builder, to improve the experience of building StepAlongs.
New Look Navigation
We have updated the look and feel of the StepAlong builder, and improved the navigation.
The navigation changes mean that creating a new StepAlong, access to settings, help and contact are all more to hand and in the same place – in the left hand menu on mobile and in the left hand margin on desktop.

Text Formatting & External linking

When we launched StepAlong a few months we kept it simple, as we believe that it’s best to do the minimal to begin with and get feedback. The feedback was quick & clear – that when it came to text in StepAlong we had kept it too simple.
With the new WYSIWYG editor you can now format the text in the StepAlong Intro Texts and Steps. Text can be bolded, italicized, added to an unordered list (bullets!) and an ordered list (numbered!).
Additionally, the WYSIWYG editor enables you to link to any other page on the web, enabling you to link to external resources from within your StepAlong.
Browser Language Detection
Now when you login to the StepAlong builder we will detect which language your browser in and set the StepAlong interface to that (as long as it’s English, French, German or Spanish!). You can always change this in the Settings > Display Language.
Coming to a StepAlong Builder near you…
There’s been a lot of work under the hood within the StepAlong Builder and much of that you won’t see for a month or so, but we’re excited to launch it. AI wonder what it could be?
