We are introducing several new features and updates to StepAlong, these enhancements aim to improve the user experience for end users users with product instructions.

New design for the StepAlong Player
The StepAlong player has an updated footer design intended to enhance usability and accessibility. The new footer includes easy access to the most used features:
- Navigation Buttons: Provides intuitive controls to move between steps.
- Table of Contents: Allows quick navigation through the instructions.
- Options Menu: Holds functionalities such as language selection, print / PDF download, copy link for sharing and additional sharing options
- Progress Bar: A visual indicator at the bottom of the screen to track progress.
The updated design also incorporates customizable branding colors for a consistent visual experience across the instructions.
Search within the StepAlong
Our new search feature allows users to locate specific content within a product instruction efficiently. Search results are displayed in the context, highlighting the steps where the searched keywords appear, this allows users to quickly grasp the overall instructions and jump directly to specific parts, eliminating the need to scroll through the entire StepAlong.
For example, if during the assembly of a product the user realizes that he has an extra piece that he does not know where to place, he will be able to quickly locate it within the instructions.
Frame adjustment when adding images
Image editing capabilities in the StepAlong builder have been improved to provide greater control over image presentation. Users can now:
- Crop Image: Trim images to perfectly fill the square frame, maintaining the current behavior.
- Fit Image: Resize images proportionally to ensure the entire image fits within the square frame, adding padding as necessary.
These options allow for more flexibility in customizing visual elements within StepAlong steps, so user can create product instructions by setting image only steps or with descriptions.
Glossary for AI Translations
A custom glossary feature has been added to improve the quality and consistency of AI-generated product instructions. For example in fields like crochet and knitting, abbreviations have language-specific meanings:
