Building StepAlong Box Ready with Clients: ecofort & the Quick-Start Guide
How ecofort helped shape a new way to produce print-ready quick-start guides straight from StepAlong Digital Instructions.
Most of our customers already use StepAlong Digital Instructions to create, translate and publish step-by-step instructions online and include a QR code linking to those instructions inside the box.
Yet, even in a digital-first world, most products still require some form of paper documentation — a QR insert, a safety notice, a quick-start guide or even the full manual.
Together with forward-thinking clients like ecofort, we’re extending StepAlong Digital Instructions to produce press-ready PDFs for every in-box need.
This ensures brands can stay compliant, help customers and cut the time and cost of producing in-box documentation.
The Quick-Start Guide Challenge
About ecofort
ecofort is a leading independent brand of durable, energy-efficient air-care products in Switzerland. They became a StepAlong client to improve the quality of their instructions and to have a platform from which they could expand product support into other markets without additional cost or upheaval.
The Challenge
Regulation around ecofort’s products means they cannot include just a QR code in the packaging: it must be accompanied with safety advice and at least a Quick-Start Guide.
Their product types vary widely — some are “plug-and-play,” others require several assembly steps. Creating and updating these quick-start guides manually was costly and slowed time-to-market.
At the same time, a fully automatic solution could not always guarantee the most helpful guide for each product.
The StepAlong Solution
We’re building a new Quick-Start Guide editor inside StepAlong.
ecofort can pull any content from the full instructions and then adapt it within the context of the quick-start guide if needed.The editor will link to a component library so repeated texts such as safety advice automatically stay up-to-date across SKUs.
